Melvin H. Schreiber, M.D., Book Reviewer, Galveston Daily News, June 2005,
“It is greatly to the author’s credit that each of the important characters in this is so clearly drawn that we soon become familiar with their thoughts, their speech patterns, their mannerisms and biases.  The court room drama and testimony are brilliantly conceived and carried out. …a thoughtful, complex and timely novel, a compelling story one is loath to put aside to do one’s daily work. [It] will appeal to anyone in the legal or medical professions, to people who are pro-choice and pro-life, to people who enjoy an exciting court-room drama, in short to everyone.”

Penny Terk, Book Reviewer - Dallas, Texas
“Thanks for the great journey! I was astonished by the rapid fire and ever increasingly dramatic conclusion.  I don't think I have ever read anything quite so compelling.  Everything was woven together beautifully and could only have been done so by someone who had actually lived through similar experiences in the court room.  Larry, this is one fine book.... expertly written!  Get to work on your next one!  Please!

Denton A. Cooley, M.D., World Renowned Pioneer Heart Surgeon:
"It's a great book." “I admire you for being able to combine your legal practice with the discipline of creative writing.  Move over John Grisham! I hope you plan other books.”

Jim Perdue, Sr., Nationally Renowned Trial Lawyer and Author of I Remember Atticus
“Seldom does a first effort at courtroom fiction find itself in the class of such notables as Inherit the Wind, The Verdict, and The Rainmaker.  But, Larry Thompson’s So Help Me God belongs there.  I predict it will become a modern day classic courtroom tale.”

Hartley Hampton, Past President of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association
“I hated to finish that last page of So Help Me God.  It's like a glass of good wine.  It captures the tension and excitement of a big lawsuit, the courtroom scenes are both realistic and spell-binding, particularly the cross-examination of the experts on the issue of when life begins."

Great American courthouses are stages upon which art, science, philosophy, and average citizens interact to shape the character of our society.  Social questions that challenge our American beliefs, principles and values find their clearest moments within the framework of civil and criminal trials where fine advocacy presents exhaustive evidence to jurors to decide the answers.  A controversial and divisive issue becomes the set design for charismatic characters to play out dynamic courtroom drama in Larry D. Thompson’s suspense novel, So Help Me God.
